TOKYO – Oil prices continued to rise Wednesday, supported by oil sector data showing a surprise drop in US crude stocks, as geopolitical tensions over the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi provoked supply concerns.
US WTI rose 25 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $ 72.17 a barrel after rising 14 cents on settlement.
London Brent crude <LCOc1> was up 26 cents, or 0.3 percent, at $ 81.67 a barrel after adding 63 cents to settle at the previous session.
