MOSCOW – The Russian Foreign Ministry officially refuted on Wednesday allegations of Russian meddling Libyan affairs.

In the weekly briefing, the spokesperson for the Ministry,  Maria Zakharova, denied these allegations and affirmed that “Russia acts in strict compliance with the decisions of the UN Security Council regarding this country.”

Earlier in October, the UK media, namely the Sun newspaper, reported that Russia was, allegedly, sending troops and weapons into Libya, in order to take control of migration routes leading to Europe and, by doing this, to increase influence on the West.
