A leaked document reveals Al-Sarraj inquired UAE about the absence of two militia leaders

TRIPOLI – A document, dated September 27th, was leaked from the proposed Government of National Accord’s Foreign Ministry during the war in Tripoli between the Seventh Brigade and the Tripoli Battalions.

The leaked document reveals that chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj, conducted a phone call on September 26th with Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and the Minister of the Interior, in which, Al-Sarraj inquired about the absence of two militia leaders in the capital, Haitham al-Tajouri and Hashim Basher.

It is noteworthy that al-Tarjuri and Basher are among the most prominent leaders of militias in Tripoli and both participated in many of the armed conflicts that took place in the city.
