Germany denies any knowledge of Russian military activities in Libya

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BERLIN – The German government officially denied on Monday its knowledge of the existence of military activities of Russia in eastern Libya.

In a response to a request from the Green Party’s parliamentary deputy, Francesca Brandner, the German Foreign Ministry stated that the German government had no knowledge of a possible Russian intervention in Libya.

Earlier in October, the UK media, namely the Sun newspaper, alleged that Russia was sending troops and weapons into Libya, in order to take control of migration routes leading to Europe, with the aim of increasing its influence on the West.
