Tunisian FM meets with British ambassador to Libya

TUNIS – Tunisian Foreign Minister, Khemaies Jhinaoui, met on Tuesday with UK Ambassador to Libya, Frank Baker, in the presence of British Ambassador to Tunisia Louise De Sousa to discuss developments the situation in Libya, and the prospects for a way out of the crisis.

According to a statement by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry, Jhinaoui pleaded for the unification of efforts of the international community, to advance the political process in Libya, being a regional and international challenge, and to help find a comprehensive consensual political solution to the crisis, in accordance with the UN road, announced in September 2017.

Baker, for his part, called for speeding up consultations between the various Libyan protagonists, and working to find a consensual political solution, reiterating his country’s support for the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord.
