AL-JUFRA – Gunmen, suspected of being linked to IS, launched an attack on the town of al-Fuqha’a in al-Jufra area on Monday night, killing four people, including the son of the head of the municipal branch, and abducting seven others.
“The attack resulted in the kidnapping of seven people,” Abdul Raziq Adwik, a representative of the Libyan National Army (LNA) in al-Jufra and Ajdabiya operations room, told the Address.
Adwik explained that the abductees are:
1 – Sharaf al-Din Hassouna Zaidani.
2 – Ali Abdullah Hammadi Zaidani (age 80 years).
3 – Khaled Sharaf al-Din Hassouna.
4 – Abdelkafi Ahmed Abdulkafi.
5 – Abu Bakr Ahmed Abdulkafi.
6 – Two of Ahmed Sassi’s sons.
7 – Son of Khamis Altaraki.
On his part, the head of the municipal branch of al-Fuqha’a stressed that the situation in the town is catastrophic as a result of the clashes, where he appealed to everyone to intervene urgently to save the town from the treacherous attack of IS members.
He stated that 25 armed vehicles belonging to IS suddenly entered the the town and intimidated the people, burnt some houses and abducted a number of young people, as he confirmed the killing of 4 people.
The head of the municipal branch described the situation as tragic as a result of the attack.
