TRIPOLI – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said in a statement released on Monday that it “strongly condemns” the deadly terror attack on al-Foqha, a town in central Libya.
The Sunday attack, which was a brutal act of revenge conducted by ISIS terrorists, resulted in four civilians killed, two of whom were executed in public, and at least nine abducted.
UNSMIL said it “extends its condolences to the families of the victims and calls for the immediate release of the kidnapped and their safe return to their families.”
“UNSMIL is deeply concerned about the increasingly fragile security situation in central Libya and calls on Libyans to set their differences aside and cooperate to defeat the terrorist threat imperiling the stability and security of their country.”, the statement concluded.
