Putin is not attending Palermo conference on Libya & Russian representation will be limited

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

MOSCOW – Russia has announced that President Vladimir Putin will not attend the Palermo conference on Libya organized by the Italian government in mid-November in Sicily.

Media sources said today that the Russian representation in the conference will be limited only to a regular envoy to attend the event, which has been mobilized by the Government of Conte for weeks.

It should be noted that it is not yet known whether Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), will attend the conference.

The absence of one of the most prominent parties in Libya from attending the conference is a failure of the Italian efforts to bring together the various Libyan parties at one table.
