Presidential Council discusses Tripoli’s security with the presence of Salamé

TRIPOLI – The Presidential Council, led by Fayez al-Sarraj, held a meeting today with military figures affiliated with the Tripoli-based government as well as its Interior Minister, Mustafa Bashaga. Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Ghassan Salamé, and his deputy, Stephanie Williams, where both present at the meeting.

The participants discussed the steps taken with regard to the implementation of security arrangements for the city; and to identify requirements for security missions particularly fuel, weapons and ammunition. It was agreed during the meeting to allocate budgets to provide the required needs.

For his part, the UN envoy welcomed the efforts of GNA to implement the security arrangements. He also renewed his warning to impose international sanctions on the violators of these arrangements.
