The Address | Benghazi – Libya
TRIPOLI – A delegation from the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) on Tuesday visited Aman Bank to inquire about the effects of continuing harassment against the bank’s employees and clients.
The UN mission called on the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) to assume its responsibilities to protect public and private facilities and the properties of all citizens, especially women.
The mission condemned the repeated attacks on Aman Bank – al-Siyahia branch in Tripoli by a militia led by Izz al-Din, Muhammad al-Dwo and Abdul Karim al-Ramah.
The attacks and physical harassment of women and financial extortion for banking services were immoral and illegal, UNSMIL said.
