NEW YORK – Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salamé, addressed the UN Security Council on Thursday for his briefing on Libya. He concluded his remarks by stating “competition and rivalry between powers is normal & somewhat legitimate, but its effect on Libya is truly detrimental. International community’s unity is crucial for progress in Libya’s stabilization.”
