The Address | Benghazi – Libya
TRIPOLI – Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salamé, and his deputy, Stephanie Williams, met on Sunday with United States State Department delegation to Palermo which is head by former Ambassador to Lebanon and Special Advisor to the Secretary of State for Libya, David Satterfield.
According to UNSMIL, Satterfield expressed appreciation to the role of UN mission in consolidating cease-fire in Tripoli following deadly clashes that erupt late August. He also expressed his support for the Libyan National Conference (Al-Multaqa Al-Watani) which UNSMIL described as a “Libyan led and owned process for credible and peaceful elections.”
