The Address | Benghazi – Libya

PALERMO – Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Ghassan Salamé, delivered a speech at a plenary session of Heads of Delegations whom are participating at the conference on Libya. During his speech, Salamé called for “a meeting on Libyan soil” after Palermo.

Salamé said, “After 15 months in Libya, there are my conclusions: First, there is no military but only political solutions, and Libyans have to find them. Delaying the political solution only impacts negatively current and future Libyans generations. Secondly, the crisis of legitimacy won’t be resolved by finger-pointing, but earned from the People by adhering to their will. Thirdly, that is why the next step is a meeting on Libyan soil.”
