Germany’s ambassador to Libya visits Benghazi

BENGHAZI – Germany’s ambassador to Libya, Oliver Owcza, revealed in a tweet on Monday that he visited Benghazi for the first time and spent the day there.
During the visit, the German ambassador met with Benghazi’s Mayor and Municipal Council. According to Owcza, “we discussed opportunities for economic and educational cooperation. Likewise the perspective of municipal elections next year.”
Owcza stated he was “excited” about his first visit to Benghazi as he wrote, “during a full day of visits I learned about its history, its sufferance during the conflict and the impressive resilience of its people. Many reasons to be back soon.”
