CAIRO – The Arab League (AL) condemned the terrorist armed attack that targeted a police station in the southeastern Libyan oasis town of Tazirbu on Friday where 9 security members were killed and at least 20 others injured and kidnapped.
Spokesman for the AL, Mahmoud Afifi, said that Ahmed Aboul Gheit, AL Secretary General, offered his condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured speedy recovery, urging the immediate unconditional release of the abductees.
Aboul Gheit renewed the Arab League’s support for the Libyan state, its military institution and its security agencies in the face of terrorism. He also renewed the Arab League’s support for Libya in anything that would contribute to uprooting the threat posed by terrorist groups to the security, stability and safety of the country.
