The European Parliament to discuss Libya on Tuesday

BRUSSELS – The European Parliament is due to discuss the situation in Libya as part of a meeting by its Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs.

According the European Parliament’s website, the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will discuss Tuesday morning “the situation in Libya and in the Search and Rescue area – exchange of views with UNHCR, IMO, IOM, Frontex and the Search and Rescue Observatory for the Mediterranean (SAROBMED) and presentation from the European Parliament’s Legal Service on the lawfulness of “regional disembarkation platforms” and “controlled centres” as proposed in the European Council Conclusions of 28 June 2018.”
