Algerian Sonatrach denies leaving Libya

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

ALGERIA – Algerian oil company Sonatrach denied on Tuesday its withdrawal from Libyan oil fields and its departure from the country. This came in response to news circulating in recent days that the company was leaving and abandoning its activities in Libya

Sonatrach pulled out an oil rig from Libya a few days ago and took it to an oil field near the Libyan border, Anadolu News Agency quoted an official of Sonatrach.

The official said the rig had been shut down since 2012 due to security threats in Libya.

It is mentioned that Sonatrach last week withdrew an oil rig from the Ghadames Basin in western Libya through the Dabdab border crossing with Algeria.
