Tazirbu – The Interior Minister of the Interim Government, Chancellor Ibrahim Bushnaf, arrived on Wednesday in the city of Tazirbu, which was witnessed a deadly ISIS attack on November 26, accompanied by a security delegation comprising security chiefs from the region.
According to a statement by the Interior Ministry, Bushnaf was at the head of a security force composed of members of the branches of the General Directorate of Central Security and various units of the Interior Ministry.
“The accompanying force of the Minister is reinforced by various types of vehicles and weapons and will secure the municipality of Tazirbu and patrol the surrounding areas to track the remnants of the ISIS terrorists,” MOI said.
The Ministry of the Interior did not disclose the period in which these security forces would be stationed in Tazirbu.
It is noteworthy that the Libyan National Army (LNA) announced on Tuesday, the formation of a special battalion to secure the municipality of Tazirbu and nearby areas.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for Tazirbu, which resulted in the deaths of 9 people and the kidnapping of 11 others.
The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), and several other countries have condemned the attack on Tazirbu, calling it a terrorist attack and urged for the immediate release of the kidnapped and their safe return to their families.
