Stephanie Williams discusses the national conference with political and academic figures in Benghazi

BENGHAZI – Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Stephanie Williams, met on Monday with a group of prominent political and academic figures in Benghazi.

Williams discussed with these figures how the upcoming national conference “can generate momentum to dislodge Libya from its current deadlock, and listened carefully to their recommendations.”

In a similar context, Williams also met in Benghazi with a group of prominent women lawyers and activists and discussed “expectations for the national conference including the constitutional, legislative and electoral processes, and the urgency of reunifying security and state institutions.”
