The Address | Benghazi – Libya
CAIRO – Egypt’s President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, met on Monday with the French Minister of the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, on the sidelines of the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2018) where they discussed, among other issues, the Libyan crisis.
According to a statement by the Egyptian Presidency’s spokesman, el-Sisi affirmed his country’s support for the Libyan National Army (LNA) “given its key role to enforce security and stability in Libya”.
“El Sisi affirmed that Egypt is focusing efforts to support the Libyan army, given its key role to enforce security and stability in Libya. This shall lead to holding elections and thus a central government to assume power, impose control over Libyan territories and address the international community in the name of the Libyan people.”
