TRIPOLI – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNMSIL) condemned on Monday the murder of six hostages taken during ISIS’s attack on the town of al-Fuqaha on 28 October 2018.
In a statement, UNSMIL describe the murder as “abhorrent” and stated that “the senseless murders are a serious violation of international humanitarian law and may amount to war crimes.”
UNSMIL also expressed its condolences to the families of the victims.
ISIS had been behind an October attack on the Fuqaha area in Jufra, some 650 km southeast of the capital Tripoli, which left five people dead.
