The Address | Benghazi – Libya
TRIPOLI – State Secretary of German Foreign Office, Walter J. Lindner, arrived on Wednesday in Tripoli where he met with chairman of the Presidential Council of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj.
Lindner and Al-Sarraj had a “comprehensive dialogue on political process, implementation of Tripoli security arrangements and economic reforms” according to Germany’s ambassador to Libya Oliver Owcza who was present at the meeting along with GNA’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Taher Siala.
Owcza said the meeting is “also linked to intended increase of German presence in Libya.” However, he did not elaborate any further.

Lindner met also with chief of Libya mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Othman Belbeisi, at the Abu Sitta disembarkation point together with the Tripoli-based Coast Guard to discuss the migration crisis.
