UNSMIL condemns attack on senior security official in Tripoli

TRIPOLI – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemned on Saturday  the attack on the home of Salah Marghani, a senior security official in Tripoli.

“Gang-style targeted killings and enforced disappearances in Greater Tripoli must end. These crimes are in violation of IHL [international humanitarian law]; perpetrators must be brought to justice,” the Mission said.

On early Saturday, an unknown armed group stormed the house of Salah Marghani, Commander of al-Forsan Battalion, killed his wife and wounded him in front of their children.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.
