JALU – Security Directorate of the municipality of Jalu, northeastern Libya, arrested late Monday more than 100 illegal migrants most of whom are from Sudan and Chad.
Jalu’s security director Lieutenant Colonel Khaled Alabbar stated that this operation “comes within the framework of security plan No. 1 of 2018, which was developed by the Directorate of Security in cooperation with other security services to control the streets within the city of Jalu.”
Alabbar called on the responsible authorities to provide the needs of the illegal migrants by providing accommodation and means of transport, pointing out that the nearest deportation center is about 600 kilometers away and located in the city of Kufra.
