TUNIS – The United Nations envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, arrived in Tunis on Tuesday, where he was received by Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis al-Jahnawi.
The two sides discussed the developments in Libya. Al-Jahnawi said in a speech to reporters that the meeting discussed the United Nations map on Libya and the Comprehensive National Conference.
Al-Jahnawi expressed his hope that the Conference will be an additional step towards a political solution in Libya, pointing out that they discussed the role of Libya’s neighboring countries to contribute to bringing the Libyan people closer together.
For his part, Salame stressed that Libya has a destiny that concerns its neighbors, especially Tunisia, because of the security, financial, economic and political aspects that strengthen relations between the two countries.
