Salamé: Libya’s wealth must not be used for bargaining

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNMSIL), Ghassan Salamé, said in a statement on Thursday that no one has the right to obstruct Libya’s oil production, transportation and export.

He also stressed that Libya’s wealth must not be used for bargaining and must remain untouched by tensions and shocks.

“Libya’s oil belongs to all Libyans. No one has the right to obstruct its production, transportation and export. Workers’ salaries must be protected and paid. But be warned to exploit this critical situation for illegal gains.
Libya’s oil should not be taken hostage nor should it be seen as prey.”

“The nation’s wealth must not be used for bargaining and must remain untouched by tensions and shocks. Here lays the interest of Libyans and the stature of their state.” He stated.
