The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TOBRUK – The Defense and National Security Committee of the House of Representatives issued a statement on Sunday calling on United Nations Security Council Sanctions Committee to impose sanctions against Turkey.

This comes after customs members of the port of Khoms seized last Tuesday a container coming from Turkey loaded with weapons and ammunition, including was 3,000 9-mm guns, 120 Beretta guns, 400 hunting rifles and 2.3 million bullets.

“We urgently ask your Committee to act swiftly in the Security Council to apply international law on this country, which has become evident to be the main factor behind Libya’s instability.” reads the statement of the House’s committee.

The General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA) has called on the United Nations Security Council to investigate the incident which constitutes a violation of the Security Council’s resolutions.
