The Address | Benghazi – Libya
CAIRO – The Republic of Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that targeted the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tripoli on Tuesday morning, expressing its sincere condolences to the Libyan people for those killed in the attack and wished speedy recovery of the injured.
Egypt stressed, according to its foreign ministry’s statement, the importance of mobilizing international support for UN efforts to restore security and stability in Libya, especially in the implementation of security arrangements for the Libyan capital Tripoli.
The statement also called for asserting exclusive jurisdiction in the security file for the legitimate state institutions in Libya alone, and enabling these institutions to carry out their responsibilities towards the Libyan people.
At the end of its statement, Egypt stressed its continued stand by Libya in confronting all challenges, especially the fight against terrorist organizations.
