IS claimed responsibility Wednesday for the terrorist attack that targeted the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) yesterday in Tripoli.

IS announced today its responsibility for the attack, stressing that three of its members carried out yesterday’s attack.

An official source from the Foreign Ministry in Tripoli said Tuesday that three people were killed and 21 others wounded by a suicide attack carried out by two suicide bombers on the headquarters of the Libyan Foreign Ministry in Tripoli. One of them was killed after he blew himself up and the other was shot dead by the security forces.

It is noteworthy that the headquarters of the Ministry is located at the Sea Road in the center of Tripoli, and includes two buildings, the first has the office of the minister and his assistants, from which columns of smoke were rising, and the second is an administrative building for the ministerial bodies.
