Italy’s FM condemns terrorist attack on GNA’s Foreign Ministry

ROME – Italian Foreign Minister, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, condemned Tuesday’s terror attack on the Foreign Minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA).

In a statement issued by Italy’s Foreign Minister, Milanesi condemned the “terrorist attack perpetrated in Tripoli against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the National Accord.”

He reaffirmed “the firm Italian commitment to the fight against all forms of terrorism “and confirmed his country’s “solidarity with the people of Libya and its rightful aspiration for true security.”

Milanesi renewed his support for the United Nations Special Representative, Ghassan Salamé, “so that the stabilization, national unity and democracy of Libya can be strengthened.”

Suicide attackers and gunmen targeted on Tuesday the headquarters of the Tripoli-based Foreign Ministry. Three people were killed and nine others will injured following the attack.

Terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.
