Spain condemns terrorist attack on GNA’s Foreign Ministry

MADRID – The Spanish Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Wednesday condemning yesterday’s attack on the Foreign Ministry of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA).
“Spain fervently condemns the terrorist attack that took place yesterday, 25 December, in Tripoli against the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Libya,” said the Spanish ministry, adding that it “sends its most sincere condolences to the to the victims’ families and colleagues… and wishes the wounded a full and speedy recovery.”
“Spain reiterates once more its commitment to the stability, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity in Libya and its support for the efforts of the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General, Ghassan Salamé, in the search for a political solution to the crisis in Libya.”
Suicide attackers and gunmen targeted on Tuesday the headquarters of the Tripoli-based Foreign Ministry. Three people have been killed and nine others will injured following the attack.
Terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.
