Italian Senator: ISIS attack in Tripoli “requires a serious and incisive action”

ROME – Italian Senator for the center-right party Forza Italia, Lucio Malan, said that ISIS attack on the Foreign Ministry of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord “requires a serious and incisive action”.

According Italian news agency Nova, Malan stated that “the attack on the Foreign Ministry of the Government of the National Agreement in Tripoli should awaken consciences and especially attract the attention of the Italian government,”

He stressed, “Libya is still a theater of war and Tripoli is closer to the Italian island of Sicily,”

“The claim of the ISIS must trigger the alarm. It requires a serious and incisive action,” Malan concluded.

Suicide attackers and gunmen targeted on Tuesday the headquarters of the Tripoli-based Foreign Ministry. Three people have been killed and nine others will injured following the attack.

Terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.
