Alistair Burt affirms UK’s support for Libya in the aftermath of Tripoli’s terror attack

LONDON – Britain’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Alistair Burt, affirmed his country’s to Libya in the fight against terrorism in the aftermath of ISIS’s terror attack on the Foreign Minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA).
In a phone call with GNA’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Siala, the British minister expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wish a quick recovery for those injured.
He affirmed Britain’s support for the Tripoli-based government “in its war against terrorism and full readiness to help raise the efficiency of those working in the areas of security in general and anti-terrorism in particular,” according to a statement the media office of GNA’s Foreign Ministry.
Suicide attackers and gunmen targeted last Tuesday the headquarters of the Tripoli-based Foreign Ministry. Three people were killed and nine others will injured following the attack.
Terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.
