TRIPOLI – The Head of the Bureau of Investigations in the Office of the Attorney-General, Siddiq Al-Sour, ordered on Thursday the head of the Libyan Intelligence Service and head of the General Investigations Service to arrest and detain a number of individuals, most notably Abdelhakim Belhadj and Ibrahim Jadran, for committing murder, robbery, kidnapping and conducting deadly attacks on a number of military and oil sites.
The arrest warrant, of which The Address obtained a copy, was issued on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, and based on an ongoing investigations regarding the case ‘No. 5 of 2018. M. H. Intelligence’. It was also based on reports received by the Office of the Attorney General related to the attack by armed groups on oil fields and ports.
The arrest warrant was also based on reports related to the attack on the Tamanhint base and the reports of incidents related to the murders, kidnappings and robbery of a number of Libyan nationals in Libya’s southern region of Fezzan by members of the Chadian opposition gangs in.
The arrest warrant reveals reports sent by the relevant authorities of the Attorney General’s Office concerning the alleged involvement of a number of Libyan citizens in the use of elements of the Sudanese and Chadian opposition and their participation with these elements in the fight between Libyan parties.
Al-Sour ordered the authorities to search and investigate 31 foreign opposition elements of the Chadian and Sudanese opposition. In addition to Belhaj and Jadhran, Al-Sour ordered the arrest of Shaaban Hadia aka “Abu Ubaidah Zawi”, Hamdan Ahmed Hamdan, Ali al-Honi and Mokhtar Arkheis.
