Ghassan Salamé visits Algeria tomorrow for a meeting with its FM to discuss Libya

ALGIERS – The Algerian Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on Sunday that Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salamé, will carry out a working visit to Algeria on 7th and 8th of January.

Salamé’s visit comes as part of “the ongoing dialogue between Algeria and the United Nations on the situation in Libya,” reads the ministry’s statement.

During this visit, Salamé will be received by Algeria’s Foreign Minister, Abdelkader Messahel. Their meeting will “focus on political and security developments in Libya as well as on the implementation of the measures agreed in the framework of the UN Plan of Action for the settlement of the Libyan crisis.”
