MISURATA – The customs department of the Misurata Automated Inspection Unit announced on Monday that 556 boxes containing 8-mm Turkish pistols had been seized inside a container in Misurata port.
The 20-foot container contained some household items and children’s toys from the front for camouflage purposes. After the goods were sorted and inspected, 556 cartons with 36 pistols per carton were discovered.
This is the second incident involving Turkish arms shipment. Three weeks ago, Customs members of the port of Khoms seized a ship coming from Turkey loaded with weapons and ammunition.
