TRIPOLI – The Administrative Control Authority on Monday demanded lifting the immunity of chairman of the High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri, in order for him to testify about financial and administrative abuses that he committed during his tenure as chairman of the financial committee of the General National Congress.
In a letter addressed to the rapporteur of the High Council of State, the Director of the General Directorate of Investigation, Hasan Mannakh, demanded lifting the immunity of Al-Mishri to testify in the case titled ‘number 10, year 2017’.
The General National Congress was the legislative authority of Libya for two years following the end of the 2011 uprising. It was elected by popular vote on 7 July 2012, and took power from the National Transitional Council on 8 August.
