HoR affirms its competence “in law” of removing and appointing heads of regulatory bodies

TOBRUK – The Regulatory Bodies Monitoring Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) sent a letter to the heads of the regulatory and accounting bodies, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, the Prime Minister, the ministers, heads of bodies and boards of the State Administration, confirming that the removal, appointment and acceptance of the resignation of the referred parties is an inherent competence of HoR.

The Committee based its statement on Law No. 13 of 2013 on the establishment of the Audit Bureau and Law No. 20 of 2013 on the establishment of the Administrative Control Authority and the political agreement signed by HoR, including amendments to the constitutional declaration as stated in the text of the letter.
