Williams holds meetings to discuss economic situation in Tripoli

TRIPOLI – Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations in Libya, Stephanie Williams, held two separate meetings with the chief of staff of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Abdulrahman Al Taweel, and Economy Minister Commissioner Ali Al-Issawi, during which they discussed the security and economic situation in Tripoli.

On Tuesday, Williams discussed with Al Taweel the security arrangements and means of activating them. She also met with the director of the judicial police to discuss aspects of cooperation between the United Nations Mission and the judicial police, including prison conditions and security arrangements.

Williams discussed with Al-Issawi the economic situation and future plans to complete the economic reforms planned by GNA.
