The Address | Benghazi – Libya
BEIRUT – Lebanese Economy Minister, Raed Khoury, urged Lebanon to invite Libya to join a summit set to take place in Beirut.
Preventing Libya from participating in Beirut Summit “is not in the interest of Lebanon,” the Lebanese minister stressed as reported by Lebanese media.
“Inviting Libya to Beirut summit is very normal.” He siad.
Libya’s participation in the summit has caused a controversy as some Lebanese political figures oppose inviting Libya over Moussa al-Sadr, a revered Shiite cleric who disappeared while on a visit to Libya in 1978.
