Salamé & GNA’s vice premier discuss the situation in the south

TRIPOLI – Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salamé, and his deputy, Stephanie Williams, met on Monday with Deputy Prime Minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord, Ahmed Maiteeq.

According to UNSMIL, Salamé discussed with Maiteeq his latest visit to Sabha, the suffering endured by residents of the southern region, and the challenges they face especially when come to security.

This is the first meeting by Salamé and Maiteeq since the latter’s joint statement with other members of the Presidential Council, in which he accused his boss, Fayez Al-Sarraj, of jeopardizing the Council’s unity through his unilateral decisions.
