TRIPOLI – Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, and chairman of the High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri, discussed in a meeting on Monday the removal of the flag of Libya from the venue of the Arab Economic and Development Summit in Beirut by members of the Amal movement in Lebanon.

According to a statement by the media office of the High Council of State, Al-Sarraj and Al-Mishri emphasized the need to take a strong and clear position on the incident.

Tensions have surged in recent days over the issue of Libya’s participation in Beirut’s economic summit. Members of Amal movement, a major political party in Lebanon, expressed their dissatisfaction with Libya’s participation over the decades-long case of the disappearance of its founder, Imam Moussa al-Sadr.
