The Address | Benghazi – Libya
BENGHAZI – The Libyan National Army (LNA) will repeat the model of Derna with Sabha to rid the city of robberies, kidnappings, killings and extortion, the Spokesman of the General Command of LNA, General Brigadier Ahmed al-Mismari, said in an interview with the Libyan Address Journal on Tuesday.
LNA will provide each area in the city with relief and secure the work of police stations and hospitals, al-Mismari added.
Spokesman of LNA called upon all military, police and civilian bodies to support LNA forces and to coordinate directly with the sub-operations room in Sabha.
“We assure the people of Sabha that the purpose of LNA operation is to rid the city of robberies, kidnappings, killings and extortion,” al-Mismari said.
He confirmed that tribes are the incubators of the movement of LNA before entering any region to cleanse it, and “we have coordination with the tribes of Sabha and its dignitaries.”
There has been no direct clash with terrorist and criminal gangs in the south so far, but LNA is carefully monitoring their movements and locations, according to the Spokesman.
LNA operations started in Sabha, but their circle will expand to all the southern Libyan territory, al-Mismari said.
“We have made an appeal for evacuating all military sites in Sabha voluntarily and peacefully, but we will have to use force against every aggressor,” Spokesman of LNA told the Address.
