Italy “will ask the EU for sanctions” against France over “colonizing Africa”

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

ROME – Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister, Luigi Di Maio, lashed out against France and threatened to impose sanctions on the European country due to its policies in Africa, which Di Maio deems to be responsible for migration crisis in the Mediterranean Sea.

“From now on, those who want to land we take them to Marseilles,” said Di Maio in a media statement, “I will ask the EU for sanctions against those countries that colonize Africa,”

“We only talk about the effects, of the deaths at sea, but the EU ignores what France does in Africa,” he adds, “France prints the franc of the colonies with which it gets to finance part of its debt. Africans will stay in Africa as long as the French stay at home.”

European countries are facing increasing pressure over its migration policies as migrants continue to rescue their lives in order to reach Europe.
