NOC Chairman and British ambassador discuss oilfields security

TRIPOLI – The Tripoli-based National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Thursday that its chairman, Mustafa Sanalla, held a meeting with the United Kingdom’s ambassador to Libya, Frank Baker, last Monday in NOC’s Tripoli headquarters.

According to NOC’s statement, the two discussed “the importance and maintenance of NOC independence and current security arrangements in the oilfields. Parties also discussed additional commercial opportunities for British companies in the Libyan oil and gas sector.”

Sanalla “highlighted plans to guarantee the safety of NOC employees and infrastructure, including at Sharara”; while Baker “stressed the need for all national and international stakeholders to stand in unison with NOC and support its mandate and leadership as the primary source of national income.”
