Six children of Tunisian jihadists could be repatriated from Libya

MISURATA – Representative of Tunisia Foreign Ministry traveled to the Red Crescent office in Misurata on Sunday to repatriate Tunisian children.

Accompanied by the Tunisian technical and scientific police, the delegation six children in care, since December 2016, by the Misurata Red Crescent who said the children are of Tunisian jihadists who died in fighting with terrorist groups or imprisoned in Libya.

The Tunisian delegated sampled these six children in order to formally identify them and initiate procedures for repatriation to Tunisia.

The Association of Tunisian Stranded Abroad (ATSA) has said that 93 children, aged 4 to 6 years, have been stranded in Libya and Syria for the past six years. They all come from families of Tunisian jihadists who joined terrorist groups in these two countries.
