Benghazi Security Directorate says its ready to secure UNSMIL new office in the city

BENGHAZI – Director of Benghazi’s Security Directorate, Brigadier General Adel Abdul Aziz, received on Monday a delegation of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to discuss securing the mission’s new office in Benghazi.

During the meeting, Brigadier General Abdul Aziz affirmed that that Benghazi’s Security Directorate is fully prepared to secure the new office. He revealed that a security team, supported by patrols, equipment and modern technical devices, will work to secure the headquarters of the mission’s office to facilitate its work in the city.

He explained that a general security plan was put in place to secure the mission during its presence in the city, and to take comprehensive security measures for the members of the UN mission and heads of delegations.

Brigadier General Abdul Aziz added that the Directorate seeks to develop a flexible traffic plan to prevent any traffic jams in the main roads surrounding the mission’s office.

For their part, members of the UNSMIL’s delegation expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the security ans stability which they witnessed in Benghazi.
