TRIPOLI – The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) stated via Twitter on Monday that it repatriated 130 migrants from Tripoli to Niamey in the first evacuation flight in 2019.
According to UNHCR, the migrants were released few days ago from different Libyan detention centers under its patronage. They were then taken to UNHCR’s Gathering and Departure Center in Tripoli, which is a transit facility established last year to house migrants before voluntarily repatriate them to their countries.
