BENGHAZI – A delegation from a group of Chinese companies specializing in the fields of housing, utilities, infrastructure, real estate investment and oil visited the municipality of Benghazi.
The delegation was received at Benina International Airport by the head of the municipal council of the city, Engineer Saqr Bojwari, where they discussed the ways of the return of the Chinese companies contracted in the implementation of housing units within the public housing program, procedures related to assessing the security situation by the companies, the payment of financial obligations, the inventory of damage, Identifying the priorities of the targeted projects, and the completion of procedural matters so that these companies can return and resume their business.
Bojwari stressed the municipality’s keenness on the return of Chinese companies to work and complete projects, especially housing, and that work is continuing to solve all the obstacles, problems and difficulties that face these companies.
The work of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. in Benghazi has stopped since the outbreak of the revolution of 17 February 2011, represented in the establishment of 20 thousand housing units in the city of Benghazi worth up to about 3 billion Libyan dinars.
Libya has already signed several agreements with China for resuming work of Chinese companies in Benghazi, which they had left because of the deterioration of security conditions during the past years.
