The Address | Benghazi – Libya
PRAGUE – Head of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, arrive in the Czech Republic on Wednesday for talks with its Prime Minister, Andrej Babiš.
According to a statement by GNA’s media office, the talks focused in particular on the economic and development cooperation between the two countries. Al-Sarraj “stressed the importance of the return of the Czech companies to work in Libya” as well as “the opening of channels of cooperation with the private sector on reconstruction.”
Following the meeting, Al-Sarraj and Babiš held a joint press conference, in which Babiš told reporters that he discussed the migration crisis with his counterpart.
“Solving the situation in Libya is very important for us in terms of systemic solutions to illegal migration,” Babiš said during the press conference.
For his part, Al-Sarraj recalled that around 800,000 illegal migrants from other African countries are now in Libya. He said he will welcome any support that will help solve the problem of illegal migration.
